Why are some of my sensors RMON

Votes:

0

I'm trying to understand why some of my sensors default to being RMON compliant (I guess that's the phrase... if you haven't guessed I'm new to the world of PRTG) and yet with others I have to turn on traffic specific sensors.?

What I'd like would be to have RMON as the default.

Secondly, how can I turn, if possible, current non RMON'd sensors into RMON ones?

Appreciate any help...

Dear StuartD

You cannot change a sensor type, so you cannot turn other sensors into RMON sensors. However, provided you have an RMON compatible device, you can add it as device object in PRTG and add SNMP RMON sensors.

If the auto-discovery detects an RMON device, it adds RMON sensors. To make sure that the auto-discovery can access the device, please check the PRTG device settings if you entered to correct SNMP credentials.
