How do I see NetFlow data close to real time in PRTG?

Votes:

Hi I have configured PRTG for NetFlow to monitor the traffic from Cisco 6500 Switches (Netflow V5). When I review the live data of a NetFlow sensor, I see it is exactly 30 minutes behind. Both the PRTG and Cisco switches are time synchronized. How do I make it more real-time?

Also I need to monitor the traffic for the ASA and it seems that for that I need to enable Netflow9. Can NetFlow v5 and v9 co-exist in the same PRTG server, or what else can be done?

Thank you for your help..

Regards Kingshuk

  • What is your active flow timeout set to on the device and in PRTG? We recommend to set it to 5 minutes on the device and 6 minutes in PRTG.
  • Yes, NetFlow 9 and 5 can co-exist.
