PRTG - Remote port sensor.

Good day,

How can I configure a sensor for a computer to telnet to another external computer with a special port. This is to verify that the vpn connection is working correctly. By rules, it can only be that particular computer. Because ICMP is not enabled, it is required to monitor via telnet. Example: Telnet 200.74.144.190 1366.

Thank you.

Dear kdelgado

you can add a PRTG device object with the according target address, and then add a port senor to the device.

Using the "Command" option you can send a telnet command.

Hello,

I also need a "remote port" sensor.

Usecase:

We have a Application Server (which is already monitored via PRTG), which has a connection to a specific IP/Port. I want to add a new PRTG sensor on this Application Server which can check the availability of this specific IP/Port.

How do i configure the normal "Port sensor" with additional telnet command?

thx
