Netflow V9 (Custom) Total Primary Channel include Other in TreeView

Votes:

In PRTG User Manual for Netflow V9 (Custom) Sensor, under Sensor Display for Primary Channel...

"...In the device tree, the last value of the primary channel will always be displayed below the sensor's name..."

It seems like the value displayed is sum of both 'Total' and 'Other' for case of Total being the primary channel - even if we hide (invisible) the 'Other' from graphs and tables views. The rest of the channels (if select as primary) will display correctly.

How can I display the value 'Total' only without the rest (i.e. 'Other') in the device tree view ?

Thank you.

Hello there,

Channel "Other" should be included in "Total", since this channel simply represents a sum of all single channels. When you configure channel "Other" to be hidden in graphs and tables, this will also remove the data from the sum showed in "Total".

In order to further investigate this, I would recommend you send us an email with some screenshots showing the issue and also settings from the sensor:

  • [email protected]
  • Make sure to mention (Case PAE918896) in the email's subject, that way it stays related to this thread.

Kind regards,

Erhard

*updates*

It's a bug. Still under investigation (by PRTG)...

Thanks :)

Yes, it's a confirmed issue. The traffic from "Other" channel is correctly removed from channel "Total" when looking at it in the sensor's view or in the device's sensor overview. Going one step higher into the group, where devices are listed and their sensors showing their "Last Value" measurements, the "Total" channel includes again the hidden "Other" channel.

Kind regards,

Erhard
