Problem with setting up WMI Sensors

Votes:

I'm getting an error when trying to add WMI sensors to my on-premises PRTG installation, targeting other servers on-prem:

TOctCheckWMIMetaBase.MetaWork: timeout while waiting in WorkEnter

What can I do to get these created? I believe my firewalls are open, I can telnet from my PRTG server to the target server on ports 135 and 445.

error prtg17 wmi wmi-custom-sensor

Hi there,

What version of PRTG are you currently using? Please check if there is an available update under "Setup > Auto-Update > Check for new Update". if so, then please install it as we have already fixed a bug that caused this issue.
Should this not work, forward us a Support Bundle including the system log files for analysis. This can be done via the "Contact Support" ribbon in the lower right corner of the web interface. Please enter this ticket's case number when submitting the Bundle: PAE927701

Best regards.
