WMI Sensors grossly under reporting RAM and CPU usage

Votes:

0

I am trying to monitor a primarily virtual network, with about 15+ VM's. After getting complaints that the system was going slow, I checked PRTG.

The CPU sensors reported roughly 10%, yet on the server the usage was well over 98% Same with the memory sensor, 2gb available while the server had over 20gb

Why are the sensors to inaccurate?

cpu-load prtg ram wmi

Dear kadeh,

measuring VM metrics depends on the method used, as a VM can be evaluated in different ways. Which sensor types exactly are you using to measure CPU load and memory usage?
