Incorrect Netflow Data Received for Meraki Security Appliance

Hi all,

I've setup our Meraki MX-100 Security Applicance in PTRG fine, and have the Netflow-v9 sensors established and receiving data. However, I've noticed that the number of bytes tally for Top Talkers, Top Connections and Top Protocols is way out.

As an example, here is the Top Protocol usage for 15 minutes: 1. Citrix 3,135 MByte 48 % 2. IMAP 2,642 MByte 41 % 3. OtherUDP 647 MByte 10 % 4. HTTPS 40 MByte < 1 % 5. OtherTCP 505 KByte < 1 % 6. ICMP 84 KByte < 1 % 7. DNS 20 KByte < 1 % 8. HTTP 2,452 Byte < 1 % 9. Other 0 Byte < 1 %

Has anyone else come across this issue and, if so, how was it resolved? I'm pretty confident that the 15 users on site are not using almost 3.2Gb of Citrix Traffic every 15 minutes.

Hi Darryl,

thank you for the KB-Post. May I ask, which exact PRTG Version are you running? Can you send us some screenshot showing:

  • the wrong numbers on the Toplists
  • the Overview Tab
  • the full Settings Tab of the sensor
