Global disable autodiscover

Hi Paessler!

We have just opened admin rights out too 2 addtional teams at work, sadly they do not listen and are repeatedly killing our hosts with lengthy autodiscover tasks.

Two questions - Can i disable this globally please? i dont mind if it takes hacky registry entry changes or code editing - Can i cancel autodiscovers once they have been started?

This is causing us (me mostly) such headaches.

Hi Sam,

In case you've made sure that there are no auto-discovery groups in place performing recurring auto-discoveries, this won't stop the users from performing manual discoveries. This cannot be disabled per se. Since you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, have a look at this post. It describes which file to adjust to add certain functions to the context menu. I haven't tested it myself, but assuming when it's possible to add entries to the menu this way, it should also be possible to remove entries from it.... ;)

Downside when altering these files is always that you have to re-apply these changes with every update of PRTG, since the installer will always overwrite all default files.
