Limit scan for new remote probes

Votes:

I'm in the process of evaluation PRTG to replace our current system.

When I set up a new remote probe I would like to limit the scan to Windows servers only or disable the scan to add them manually.

Is this possible?

The reason is that our current system only monitors server we have a service agreement for and we are not interested in the complete network. Later we will add more sensors but initially I would like to limit the gathered information.

Hi there,

When you add a Remote Probe to PRTG and it connects initially, then you have to approve it. To disable the initial auto-discovery, choose the "Approve New Probe"-option and not the "Approve and auto-discover new probe"-option. Afterwards you have multiple options to run auto-discoveries manually:

Best regards.
