snmp trap sensor - notification problem with bindings(OID,Value)

Hi There,

I try to trigger a notification for PortSecurity-Violations. I´ve installed the MIB-Files for my Switches and everything looks fine in the Sensor: https://i.imgur.com/nzVMGMh.png

This is the Trap I´m looking for: http://ipmsupport.solarwinds.com/mibs/HP-ICF-FAULT-FINDER-MIB/item.aspx?id=hpicfFfLogFaultType

If i put just the OID for the particular SNMP-Trap inside the "Warning"-Field under Settings, everything works fine:

bindings[1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.7.2.1.4]

Any trap for this OID (hpicfFfLogFaultType) triggers an e-mail. yay!

But I can´t figure out how to trigger the event just if the Value for the OID is "12" (PortSecurityViolation).

So far I´ve tried [1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.7.2.1.4,12] [1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.7.2.1.4,(12)] [1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.7.2.1.4,PortSecurityViolation] [1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.1.7.2.1.4,PortSecurityViolation (12)]

with no success. any ideas what I´m doing wrong?

Hi Spoon,

The best way to see if the configured error conditions work correctly, is to use the Messages Tab of the Trap Receiver Sensor. Enter the condition in the boxes at the top, PRTG will automatically apply the settings and only show messages matching this filter. Finally, you can click on the small gear symbol on the left side next to 'Filter' and copy the correct syntax to the error field of the sensor.

Hopefully, this helps you to configure the condition correctly. If not, please let me know!

Best regards, Felix
