Morning, My name is Elie, my question is about prtg. These is now one month using prtg as a monitoring tool, i enjoyed...but the fact of my question looks like this:

In my LAN, i can access the prtg on any computer by just typing the ip add 10.10.10.5 in the browser and get the access. Then what i need is to change that private IP to a public IP and it will help me to monitor the network wherever i am with this wonderful monitoring tool.

If is possible; Outline for me the steps.

Thanks.....Have a nice DAY

Hi Elie,

You can connect via VPN or you make the PRTG Core Server publicly available via its corresponding HTTP port. To make the PRTG Core Server publicly available, you have to do some configuring within your own network and your firewalls. The configuration of your firewalls may differ from vendor to vendor, thats why we can't explain them in detail. The basic steps are:

  • create a NAT from a public IP address to the internal IP address of the PRTG address
  • open port 80 for HTTP or 443 for HTTPs
  • connect from external

    Best regards.
