No response (code: PE002) For DNS query sensor

Votes:

Hello,

All of a sudden from today we are seeing this error on PRTG No response (code: PE002).

Yesterday it was working fine without any issues. Only thing we did is we paused the sensors and resumed it back today it shows No response (code: PE002)

When we check on the server everything is fine no issues.

How to overcome this error ?

dns dns-query no-response pe002

Hello ramkumarj,

Thank you very much for your contact.

Did you already restart the targeted machine or the PRTG for test purposes once? Does the issue still persist afterwards?

Best regards,
Sebastian

Hello Sebastian,

The only thing we did is paused the sensors for that servers and un-paused it again. The issue occurred after that.

Thanks.

Hello ramkumarj,

Please restart the targeted machine and also try to re-create the sensor if the status does not become "up" after the restart.
Does it work in either one of the two approaches?

Best regards,
Sebastian

We have stopped the device in PRTG for maintenance activity and there is no DNS configured for the IP of the device. Why do we get PE002 error (The DNS server is not responding) ?

Where precisely do you receive the error code PE002? Do you refer to one of the sensors deployed on the device, that you stopped (assuming that you mean paused)?
