monitor an https site directly from application server

Is there a way to monitor a Website directly from an application server?, this application server is not the source server for the website. However it is the only server that has direct access to the https site.

I have tried adding an http advance sensor pointing to the URL, this sensor is within the device (app server), however I receive connection fail errors, my assumption is that PRTG (probe) is actually trying to reach the URL, and since this PRTG server does not have permission to connect to the URL it fails.

Please let me know your thoughts or options if any.

Thanks.

Hey Virginia,

In this case, you need to install a Remote Probe on your "application server" in order to trigger the HTTP sensor scans from this particular server (as it is the only one which can reach the website in question).

Best regards,
Sven
