Active Flow Timeout in Flow sensors

Votes:

0

We wish to monitor our Cisco router with netflow v9. The current active flow timeout for devices are 30mins. If PRTG will only display the statistic upon 30mins, it will be too long as we wish to monitor real time top talker by 10mins example. So would it be advisable for us to set the devices active flow timeout to 5mins or 10mins for this situation?

Hello there,
we appreciate your contact and inquiry.

Yes, definitively. You can lower the Active Flow Timeout on the device to let's say 4 minutes and then to 5 minutes in the sensor in PRTG. This way you will see the data with only five minutes of delay.
