Is there a way to create a continuous ping sensor?

We'd like to be able to make our ping interval continuous rather than having each one spaced out. The lowest setting for the ping interval is currently 30 seconds, and we were wondering if there was a way of doing this. Thanks.

You can add scanning intervals to PRTG. Go to Setup -> System Administration -> Monitoring.

Here you can add a 1s scanning interval. USE CAUTION!! Tech support will not support any performance issues when using any scanning interval below 30s.

Once you add the 1s interval, head over to your ping sensor. In the settings for the sensor, set it to send one ping only, and then change it over to 1s scanning intervals.

I wouldn't do this on a permanent basis, more of a temporary tool when you need 24/7 ping monitoring.

If you need that level of monitoring, I would highly suggest you setup a dedicated remote probe for this need, and source all the pings from said probe to isolate your core server from potential performance issues.
