Debian SNMP Problem

Hey folks,

we try to monitor a Debian Sever with SNMP. SNMPD is already configured on the debian system. With the Passler SNMP Tester i can verify that SNMP is working on the debian system.

12.04.2018 12:42:39 (9 ms) : Device: 192.168.2.66 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (12 ms) : SNMP V2c 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (17 ms) : Uptime 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (78 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (82 ms) : ------- 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (85 ms) : DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = 461286 ( 1 hour 16 minutes ) 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (103 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (106 ms) : HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.0 = 422172831 ( 48 days ) 12.04.2018 12:42:39 (109 ms) : Done

But if i try to add a new SNMP Senor(SNMP-Library Basic Linux Library) it returns "No objects found for monitoring". The SNMP setup for the device are the same as used in Passler SNMP Tester software.

Any ideas what could be the Problem here ?

ps. Other SNMP Sensors for other devices (no Linux though) are working as expected.

pss. i ran the Passler SNMP Tester on the device where my PRTG Server is installed.

snmp snmp-error#2 snmp-sensor

We found the Problem, on default debian doesnt give out much information, but you can fix that "problem" in the snmpd.conf file. See for more information (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/14690216/what-does-no-more-variables-left-in-this-mib-view-mean-linux)
