Hello,

I was wondering how you guys calculate the speed for the traffic sensor on prtg. The live and 2 hour data is showing that bw utilization is peaking out, however when I run the 30 day graph, it skews differently. I know the 30 day one has a 1 hour time interval and the live and 2hour data has 5 minutes. End goal - is trying to figure out if my circuit is peaking out and need assistance with the numbers. Is there anyway I can attached my graphs? Thanks for your time

Hi there,

The different 2 days, 30 days and 365 days views are building averages. By default, PRTG uses 5 minutes for the 2 days view, one hour for the 30 days graph and one day for the 365 days overview.

The longer the average, less likely are spikes going to be shown. You can slightly adjust these settings via the Setup > System Administration > User Interface > Graph Settings page.

If you need to process the data outside of PRTG, you can use the Historic Data tab of the sensor in question to export the (raw-) data via CSV.

If this does not make it clear and if you want to upload the graphs, you can use this markup code.

Best regards, Felix
