I use mostly SNMP to monitor the environment. I m looking to make use of WMI to get additional info on the SQL DB's. I am unable to get a a domain level admin account. Has anyone managed to make it work with a local server admin account ?

Hi there,

There are some preconditions for the user which is used to monitor WMI metrics. These are also described in this article.

To see if the scans work with the newly created user, you can then use the WMI Tester.

Best regards, Felix

Hi,

Just to close out what I have discovered. I have had to open port 5985 from the PRTG server to the windows SQL DB server. I did not see this port listed in the PRTG port lists.
