Hi, the "Auto Discovery Debug Log (1).log" file is not updated and only reports data from 3 months ago, can you confirm it is enabled by default? Is there any way to have it refresh? Thanks

Hello gc,
thank you for your KB-Post.

The default location for the Auto Discovery Debug Log (1).log is:

C:\ProgramData\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\Logs (System)\Auto Discovery Debug Log (1).log

However, if you've changed your PRTG's Data Folder location, this may have changed. To confirm the data Path for your PRTG, please run the "PRTG Administration Tool" application on the Core Server, on the "Core Server" tab you'll see the "Local Storage of Data Files and Monitoring Database". Copy and paste that Address in Windows Explorer to reach PRTG's current Data Folder.

From there, locate the Logs (System) folder and then the Auto Discovery Debug Log (1).log file. If this file still dates back 4 months, then this is very likely the time elapsed since the last auto-discovery operation. The Auto-Discovery log cannot be disabled.

Best Regards,
Luciano Lingnau [Paessler Support]
