Rate-limit notifications on a server/sensor basis ?

Hello,

We have a bad case of a server's memory oscillating between 6% and 4% free space which triggers notifications every 10 minutes or so. This makes acknowledging useless (it resets every time the downtime ends) and pausing the sensor or editing the limits isn't practical for us.

We'd like to limit the amount of e-mail received from this specific sensor/server as it makes up for more than half of the notifications issued on our 10k sensor infrastructure and drowns everythong else.

Is it possible to rate-limit the notifications issued by PRTG if they are about the same sensor or server ? I also know a few people that would love to see an hysteresis feature on sensors that would be an even better solution in my opinion.

Thank you very much for the contact.

Just to check, are you aware of the Summarization option within notifications? Alternatively, and if the server's memory consumption is quite low, you should also consider to lower the warning/error limits that turn the sensor into the corresponding down state.
