Windows Event Log Alarms

Votes:

0

Hi All,

I've been messing around with the event log monitor on a DFS server. There are specific logs that, if they have occurred more than 30 times in 5 minutes, I want an alarm. This seems hard to do, because PRTG counts events#sec. How can I hack this, to make It work. I don't want an alarm everytime the event has happened, because the event has a tolerable limit for performance.

Best regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

What the sensor shows is "found events per second (in relation to the scanning interval)". It might work when using an intervall of 5 minutes/300 seconds and then set an upper error limit of 0.1 in the channel (30/300=0.1), so it would turn to error whenever it measures 0.1 or higher.

Kind regards,

Erhard
