Hi We use the PRTG monitor today but wish to setup the PRTG monitor on a new server in our organization. The plan is to transfer one and one sensor to the new server.

Can we use two servers with PRTG in a transition? Is it possible to export groups and devices with sensors to another server?

export new-server prtg

Hello there,

Sorry for the late reply, there was a technical issue with the knowledgebase so that the thread could not be published.

Please find here a guide on how to migrate your installation with all its configuraton and data.

With current PRTG versions it is no problem to use the same on two installations, the second one will show as "Temporary Activation" on "Setup | License", meaning it will work for 30 days and then fall back to freeware version, unless you deactivate the other license.

Kind regards,

Erhard
