OPC Communication PRTG-SCADA

Hi,

I'd like to use PRTG in an industrial environement, this requires OPC communication so the sensor alarms can be linked to the normal SCADA/HMI alarm's. Is it possible to set this up? and if so, how? I couldn't find anything in the documentation

With PRTG 20.4.63.1427, we've introduced the new OPC UA Server Status Sensor. More information on that can be found in our blog entry about it.

Hi Stef,

We don't support OPC out of the box but there are two approaches how to integrate it into PRTG:

1) install a SNMP agent on the device if possible...

2) look at our alliance partner machineshop.io. They integrate data "from the edge" into PRTG. In fact they act as a kind of gateway between industrial protocols and PRTG:

Hi Stef,

I had the same requirement. Finally, I developed a custom executable that can be used with the PRTG Custom EXE Sensor. It monitors any OPC tags, returns the value and/or a message.

I started to implement PRTG in some industrial projects and this was a requirement to have an OPC Sensor.
