Exclude notification from a specific sensor-type/tag?

Votes:

0

We have been using PRTG for some time now, ang getting notified(mail) everytime we get a warning, alarm or up-status, which is for the most fine, but we do get quite a few mails from sensors that are not "super" important.

Is there anyway to exclude these notifications on a specific sensor-type/tag? We still wanna see them on the alarm-list, so we can handle them when needed, we just dont wan't to have a mail all the time about something that isn't every important to us.

Dear Bjarne,

notifications cannot be disabled by sensor tags. However you can disable notifications for particular sensors:

  • Go to the sensor in question
  • Open the tab "Notification Triggers"
  • Disable the notification trigger inheritance

As alternative, you could do the opposite:

  • Disable the trigger on the probe level, or even remove it on the root node level
  • Create a sensor library
  • Add a library node with the option to add sensors by tag
  • Once created, attach a notification trigger to this sensor library

Hi there, is there a way excluding a few individual sensors of a device that is included in a library (for notification sending that way)?

Hi Florian,

There is no option to do this. The only two ways would be to exclude these Sensors from the library or to ensure that these Sensors never meets the requirements of the notification trigger.
