According PRTG manual it not support more than one Active Directory domain, but as far as i understand this technical limitations refer only to Domain Group and Domain Account usage. Any way, we plan to use PRTG from one domain to monitor PC's from another subdomain, and already successfully install Remote Probe on subdomain server. Right now we want to decide which account type we will delegate for subdomain System Administrators. Variant one - Unnamed Service Account from parent domain or internal PRTG user accounts. Can you help me to understand major differences between this two variants?

Hi there,

The Active Directory Integration of PRTG is only used for authenticating users - this only supports one Domain. However requesting devices for information, e.g. via WMI, can use different Domains and Credentials. Both are defined at different places. For example you have two remote probes and each one runs in their own domain (compA.local and compB.local). You can define the credentials of the "compA.local"-Domain under the Probe that runs in this domain and the same is valid for the Domain "compB.local".

Best regards.
