How to setup a User/UserGroup for modifiing a kind/tags of sensors only

Can PRTG setup a User/UserGroup to modify a kind/tags of sensors only? Thanks.

I found:

  • System Administration =>
    • User Groups =>
      • "Testing Group" (group I have created)

There is "Users May Create These Sensor Types" option. But I found that user under this group can create all sensors even I just select some of the sensors types only in this option. How can I use this option?

Thanks.

Hello Daniel,

Check if the particular has an additional membership in a different group like "PRTG Users Group". If a user is in more than one group, access rights of the user group with the highest rights apply. So for this restriction to work, make sure the users added to this group are only members of that and no other additional group.

Kind regards,

Erhard

Dear Erhard,

Thanks for your reply. And can I limit a user to modify some kind/tags of sensors?

Thanks.

Dear Daniel,

That's not possible, I'm afraid. Access rights are mainly determined by group memberships, there is no option for tags in this "equation".

Kind regards,

Erhard
