Monitor Rx and Tx

Good Morning.

I would like to know if you can monitor the Tx and Rx levels of the trunk of a Datacom using the PRTG sensors.

If so, what would be the correct sensor to use in this case?

Thank you.

Hello João,
we appreciate your inquiry.

Kindly note that we currently don't have built-in sensor for Datacom, but this doesn't mean that you won't be able monitor your device with PRTG. As long as the device supports a protocol that PRTG supports (SNMP for example) and the vendor for instance provides an SNMP MIB file for the device, you will be able to import the MIB with our MIB-Importer and add all possible sensors within PRTG.

If you obtain a MIB File, please refer to this guide for instructions:

The other alternative would be to contact the device's vendor a check what options are actually available to monitor TX and RX levels. Once the vendor confirms this, we can provide specific/details on the PRTG side of the Setup.
