Support for JMX tomcat

When I search for what to use to monitor tomcat / jmx everything recommends the mini probe. However these posts are years old and if you follow the links it will take you to a prtg page which states

"We do not further develop the Mini Probe API because we plan major changes to the underlying API in PRTG. You can still use the Mini Probe API "as is" but please note that it may be deprecated at any time."

Again a post which is years old. What is the current supported solution for monitoring tomcat?

Hi there,

Using the JMX mini probe is still possible, there are no native sensors to monitor JMX Tomcat servers I'm afraid. This needs to be done via your own custom scripts described on the Setup > PRTG API > Custom Sensors page.
