How can I monitor a service, I would like to check the IIS service is running on a web server.

Dear Manni,
Services on Windows machines can be monitored with WMI Service Sensors (assuming you are referring to PRTG Network Monitor). But for monitoring IIS you can also try using the IIS Auto Discovery Template (which actually uses SNMP).
