How to install HTTP advanced sensor

Votes:

0

Hi.

Total PRTG noob here.

From reading the manual and other Paessler sources I see I need the HTTP Advanced Sensor to get the monitoring level I need. Great. Now how the heck do I install it? I have this week's version of the product but when I search anywhere for it, it doesn't come up. What am I doing wrong please?

Cheers
John

Hey there John,
thank you for your inquiry.

All you need to do is Add a Sensor. The linked manual page covers the process of creating a new sensor.

If you don't have a device created in PRTG for the corresponding webserver (or endpoint) yet, make it the websites FQDN. For instance, if you wanted to monitor https://kb.paessler.com/en/ the device address would be kb.paessler.com - And when deploying the HTTP Advanced sensor when you're prompted for the URL, enter the complete URL, for instance https://kb.paessler.com/en/

And if you're new to PRTG, please have a look at our Getting started with PRTG guide:

Best Regards,
