Add specific interfaces to device template for switches

Votes:

0

my devicetemplates have multiple sensors like system health, temperatures,... and now i want to add the uplink interface. For this i have to add this to the template but every time i want to create a new template out of a perfect configured device i have a template that discovers every interface when i create a new device out of it.

Is there a option to define keywords or filters to narrow the amount of interfaces? The uplinks have a unique description and name so i hope it is possible.

Kind regards

device-template port uplink

Hello,

Thank you for the KB-post.

Please note that there are a few settings that you cannot save into a device template, so PRTG will set them to default.

For example, it is not possible to save all sensor settings and channel settings of sensor types that dynamically scan for available monitoring items when you add the sensor. This affects also traffic sensors where you can choose interfaces that you want to monitor in the "Add Sensor" dialog.

Best regards
