Which ntp-server does this sensor query? The ntp-server configured on the prtg probe server or the ntp-server configured on the server where I add the sensor? It's not clear to me (i red the sensor documentation).

Hi there,

Thank you very much for your contact.
The SNTP Sensor has two channels:

  • Response time of the server
  • Time difference in comparison to the local system time

Response time of the server measures the response time of the NTP server, which in this case is the same address of the PRTG device, that has the sensor.

Time difference in comparison to the local system time means the difference of the above mentioned (local) NTP server and PRTG Probe (either Local Probe or Remote Probe) that has the device which has the sensor.

I hope this makes it a more clear.

Best regards,
Sebastian
