Hello Hossein,

Thank you very much for your question.

No, there is no such thing as a limitation for paused sensors. However, please note that PRTG rates sensor states differently. As we focus on paused sensors, please note that the following states are rated active and do count in the total active sensor count:

  • sensor paused by dependency
  • sensor paused by user until
  • sensor paused by schedule

The reason for us to count such sensors as active is because PRTG assures that the sensor state, for instance when the dependency is not active anymore, can be restored.
Only sensors that are paused indefinitely are not counting in the active sensor count.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Hi

is it still valid, that indefinitely paused Sensors are not counting for active sensor? I did a test at today and change a Sensor which was paused from a Parent to paused indefinitely, but it still showing that I have reached the limit with 5060 Sensors and 0 Sensors are available. I expected it will change to 5059 Sensors now, or?

Hi there,

the total sensor count also includes Paused sensors but sensors that state "Paused (indefinitely)" are internally not counted in the sensor count.

Best,
Sebastian
