IP Migration Request

I would like to know if there is any standard documentation on IP Migration. Currently our PRTG using Public IP address and soon planning on moving it to Private IP address.

Can i know what is the standard procedure? Is it the sensors will be affected during the IP migration? What are the other consequences will need to configure from IP migration?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm afraid there is not much 'Standard Documentation' about an IP Change for the PRTG Server, as there is not really much to do. Basically the important things to do/check are:

  • PRTG Server Administration tool: Enter/Select the new IP for the Webserver, and if necessary (for Remote Probes) for the Core Server
  • PRTG Probe Administration tool: Select the new IP for outgoing monitoring requests if necessary.
  • for all Remote Probes: Configure them (in their PRTG Probe Administration tool) to know the new server.

Best Regards.
