Fehler PE015 80070005: Access denied on all WMI sensors

Votes:

0

I added a Windows Server 2016. Everything worked at first. Some hours later, all WMI-Sensors got the PE015 error. Rebooting the monitored device did not fix the error. The solution was to reboot the PRTG Server. I seems to be a BUG in PRTG. I had that issue several times now.

Do you have any idea, why that happens?

MK,

Which version of PRTG do you have installed?

Does this server have any kind of Firewall or Security installed?

Is there any kind of router or firewall device between the two devices?

Hi Benjamin,

Version: 19.1.48.2929+
PRTG Host and Monitored Host are in the same Subnet.
Windows-Firewall is disabled.

As I said. A Reboot of the PRTG host fixed the issue.

Marco,

Which version of .NET Framework is installed on the PRTG Server? Make sure it's atleast 4.7.2.

I find that hard to tell. The Installer says, that it is already installed.

https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/dotnet/framework/migration-guide/how-to-determine-which-versions-are-installed#version_table

The Registry states: Release: 461814 Version: 4.7.03062

Marco,

You said there is no security software on the target host?

What about the credentials you are using? What rights do they have?

Hi Benjamin,

That depends on if you count "Windows Defender" as security-software. I use a domain-admin account for all Windows servers (Although I would rate that as an security issue).

Marco,

Can you please update to 19.1.49, and see if this issue persists?

We updated. No change. By the way. The Paessler WMI tester, can access the target device without problems.

Marco,

Can you disable Windows Defender and any firewall software on the target host?

Also, please verify your credentials in PRTG by re-entering them just to make sure someone didn't change them on accident.
