Rename Tag

How do a globally rename a tag? Say I have a tag called PRTG_IS_OKAY and I want to rename to PRTG_IS_GOOD. I want to rename name the PRTG_IS_OKAY tag reference in all reports and factory sensors as well as any tag located to groups, devices, and sensors

Hi there,

Thanks for your KB inquiry, we appreciate your contact regarding this matter!

Unfortunately, it's not possible to rename the tag directly. The only built in possibility is the following (note that this will overwrite all tags that are defined for these sensors):

  1. Navigate to "Sensors | By Tag | *corresponding Tag*"
  2. Mark all displayed sensors with the box on the top right
  3. Click on the "Settings"
  4. Configure the new tag in the "Tags" section
  5. With this all existing tags for the sensor will get overwritten
