WMI Stopped Working

We have a Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 server that overnight WMI sensors have stopped working.

We are getting the following error

Connection could not be established (Cannot initiate WMI connections to host "SERVERNAME". Please reboot target device "SERVERNAME" to recover from this situation.) (code: PE015).

We have rebooted this server several times, which does not clear the errors.

Can somebody help

error pe015 wmi

Hello Stuart,

Please also try to restart the PRTG Probe Service of the Probe which connects to the target device via WMI. This will reset the WMI connection pool and re-establish the connection.

Kind regards,
