User Story

As a PRTG User, I have set up a PRTG cluster, but as you know there are some limitations in using specific sensors. I'd like to monitor the NIC traffic on my cluster.

Hi amajoura,

Thank you for your post.

It's possible to monitor your NIC while your PRTG System is in the Cluster mode. Please note that if a Sensors is not "working" in the Cluster means, that it's not possible to add the Sensor to the Cluster Probe. For example, all flow Sensors cannot be added to the Cluster Node, since all Sensors on the Cluster Probe are simultaneously present on Master and Failover Node. This is not usable for flow Sensors, as they receive data and not actively requests data. As a result, a flow Sensor on the Cluster Probe would have duplicate data.
However, if you want to monitor a NIC, I recommend to use the SNMP Traffic Sensor.
