Cisco Small Business Series switches

Just purchased additional PRTG sensor license. Am trying to add monitoring for the Cisco Small Business Series switches to monitor Memory, disk usage using the SNMP Cisco System Health sensor but it returns a PE185 code.

Does it mean the small business series SG500, SG350, etc is not supported? Any other ways to monitor the health of these switches.

Appreciate your advice.

Thanks.

Hello there,

Sounds very much like the device simply does not provide data for the OIDs those sensors are querying.

Use our SNMP Tester to have a closer look:

  • Configure SNMP Tester to point to your device accordingly
  • Select option "Walk" on each of the following OIDs:
    • For Memory and Disk Space: 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2
    • For CPU Load: 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3

You will get no data when walking over these OIDs, therefor the sensors cannot be created. Check if Cisco has dedicated MIBs for those devices, then you can integrate them in PRTG and create sensors as described here.

Kind regards,

Erhard
