Server Reboot when we update to 19.3.51.2830?

Votes:

0

We receive followed Dialog when we will Update to Version 19.3.51.2830.

You are about to install version 19.3.51.2830 of PRTG

During the installation your monitoring services will be stopped for a few minutes and your server may be rebooted without prior notice.

Once started, the update process cannot be stopped. Existing Remote Probes will be updated subsequently.

------------------------------------------------

What is mean with this? Reboot the PRTG-Server-Service or our complete Server? And what is with Remote-Probes, restart here only the Probe Service or the complete machine?

prtg reboot update

Only the system with the PRTG Core Server restarts, servers that have a Remote Probe do not restart.

Hello,

Thank you for your KB post.

The PRTG Server service and the Probe Service are always restarted. PRTG always display's this message, however it will restart the server only if necessary.

Kind regards,
