Trying to change IP address of a device

I'm trying to change the IP address in PRTG on one of our devices, and it will not allow me to. I get an error that I've not seen before.

At the top of the error box in bold it says:

ERROR (UNKNOWN RESPONSE CODE)

The validation of the data you entered hs failed. The selected dependency is not valid. Please select a sensor Error details.

undefinedServer: URL: /editsettings? REDACTED

However the issue is that the IP address that we are entering is the corrected IP address and PRTG don't even give it a chance to scan for that IP or anything it just errors immediately.

Hi there,

As the error mentions, the dependency is not properly configured for one of the selected devices. Please open the "Ping" sensor of the affected device, scroll down to "Schedules, Dependencies, and Maintenance Window" and set the "Dependency Type"-Option to "Master sensor for parent".

Afterwards you should be able to change the device again.

Context of this error is that we now check, on saving device settings, if a device has a valid dependency set. If this is not the case, then you will receive this error.

Best regards.
