Additional Placeholders or Custom Fields Needed For Notifications

Votes:

1

We really need additional placeholders or custom fields for notifications. Multiple placeholders lets us use one notification and use placeholders to pass variables to the notification. (Server name, process name, username, password, etc) We currently use the comments placeholder to define variables at the sensor level. It would be GREAT to have more. Is this a feature in version 8 and/or can it be added to new versions?

Also what is the process to submit enhancement requests? We would like to see rich text in the comments field. Then we can add links or additional info for resolving alarms.

Dear Benjamin,

thank you for you feedback. You can send such requests or comments always to [email protected], or post them here of course (though we prefer the first option).

I'm afraid for the coming first official release none of your wishes are going to be implemented, but we will keep them in mind for future releases of PRTG.

Best Regards.

Are there any workarounds for getting more user defined variables (placeholders) in notifications?

Thanks
