Where does PRTG get geolocation information?

Hello,

So, I'm new to PRTG, just started using the trial version yesterday. It's been doing an autoscan and found two switches we have set up. It added them to the geolocation map, but one of the switches it put over in Europe, and we are a US based company. So my question is:

1. Why does it say one of my switches is in Europe and

2. How does it know where my switches are anyway? I didn't set any location up, is this something the switches have built into them? Is there any security risk to be concerned about here?

Thanks in advance!

Jared

Hi Jared,

What's exactly configured in the location of the device or the group it inherits the location from within its settings? If any, though.
