Dear all

starting position One of our employees had untraceable problems with his Domain-account, which led to his domain account being blocked in minutes tackt.

The only solution was to create a new domain user, and disable the old one.

The problem we're facing in PRTG now is, that it seems that in PRTG the old and new account are still linked in the background somehow. Changes (in PRTG) to this user are not applied, and the login times to PRTG are also very long. We've even completed delete the AD-Group in PRTG and all Users and configred it new.

Is there a way to clean up the users in the background? For other users we do not have this problem.

Hi there,

PRTG uses a cache which holds credentials for one hour, after that hour, a new authentication against the DC is required. But I do not see any feature which "connects" two AD accounts with different names.

Can you please elaborate what you mean by "Changes in PRTG to this user are not applied", what exactly do you change and isn't reflected by PRTG?

What will help us here are the system log files, can you send them to us? Simply click on the "Setup > Contact Support" menu and also mention the old AD-User name and the new one for further review.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Felix Saure, Tech Support Team
