Exporting PRTG reports in CSV format

Hi, I'm new to PRTG. I'm currently extracting the reports of the sensors that I am monitoring to an excel sheet. What I'm monitoring is the total downtime of the sensor for a week (e.g. 1Day 5Hours 3Minutes 30Seconds) then I transfer this data on the excel manually to get the total downtime of the sensor.

Would it be possible to extract the PRTG reports in CSV file already? Currently, it only exports PDF files and I have to input it manually to excel.

I came across with this csvexport tool which is an add-on tool on PRTG. Would this be helpful to my situation? Also, where do I install this tool?

Hoping for your response.

Thank you very much!

Regards, Gab

Hello there,

Which report template are you using? If you choose a report template where data files are available, it's possible to export CSV files. Please also check the "Data Files" section in the report settings. For more information on reports also see:

Hi Timo,

Thanks for your reply. I tried the Data Table (24 H Interval) template but it seems that the csv file generated is scattered. The output is something like this:

PDF CSV: 2144,2259,2264,.. etc

Is there a way to consolidate these csv file ito one file? I only want to see the number of hours the sensors was down/up for a specific time.

Thank you very much.

Regards, Gab

Hi Gab,

Yes, you will receive one CSV file for every Sensor added to the report. I'm afraid this cannot be changed or summarized automatically.

Unfortunately PRTG exports a CSV file for each sensor, but there are other more efficient methods of obtaining reports in PRTG. There are other very functional tools to obtain more structured information for reports in PRTG. I have discover a way to obtain data in no just by sensor, but by devices or groups, getting averages in all levels
