Can PRTG be interfaced to OSIsoft PI System?

Votes:

1

The PI System is a suite of software products that are used for data collection, historizing, finding, analyzing, delivering, and visualizing. We're planning to interface PRTG to the PI System so it can send notification through email when a sensor changes state (from up to down and vice versa).

The challenge is that our PRTG is not connected to the internet so it cannot send emails. Once the PRTG has been successfuly interfaced to the PI System, we are planning to create a tag on the PI System that corresponds to the sensor of PRTG then we'll configure the PI System to send a notification to us regarding the status of the sensors.

According to OSIsoft, the PI System has PI SNMP interface that can communicate and collect data from devices that supports SNMP protocol.

Lastly, what database is PRTG using? If it uses a relational database that supports ODBC protocol, PI RDBMS interface can be used to collect data from the PRTG Network.

If anyone has any suggestion about this project, please let me know. We are very open to any suggestions.

Regards, Gab

interface osisoft pi-system
