Hi Everyone!

We are new to PRTG and we're facing a challenge to have different notification times for one same device type.

For example, we have 10 sensors for ping where we want to be notified for 5 of them only if they're down for 5 mins and other 5 only if they're down for at least 10 mins.

What's the best practices for this kind of thing?

Hello Eduardo,

We appreciate your contact. There are multiple ways:

  • You can break the inheritance on the Notification Trigger pages and create a new trigger for each individual sensor.
  • You can create a library and filter for sensors of your choice. For instance a filter by sensor type, or a filter for a particular tag. You can then click on the notification tab of the library itself to define when the notification should be sent out.

Kind regards,

Hi Felix!

Which training resources like video, courses, tutorials you can suggest to learn those kind of things?
