We know that the probe setup include the prtg server required key: " _key_{000000}". If we have multiple remote probe do we have to download a different setup for each of them or just once.

Hi mbaro,

In this case, I recommend to use one of the following options:

  • Open the Web Interface on each server where a Remote Probe should be installed and download the installer each time (in this way a new key will be generated for every server)
  • Navigate to "YourCoreInstallationPath\PRTG Network Monitor\webroot\public" and copy the file "PRTG_Remote_Probe_Installer.exe". Afterwards, you can use this file for every installation (since this file is not connected to a key).

Hi there,

If I understand you correctly, then you are interested to connect existing Remote Probes with a new Core Server? If so, this is possible and if the versions are not the same, the Core Server should distribute the new version installer. If this is not the case, please explain your request in detail.

We want to deploy new remotes probes with the core server. Doing so we know that we have to download the probe installer from the admin interface. This one will let us download the setup with the generated _key{XXXX}. But what about deploying the probe on multiple sites. Do we have to download one version for each site or the unique same setup file with _key{XXXX} can be installed several times on multiple site without generating a new one
