prtg desktop memory usage is high

Hello.

I started getting warnings from the local probe about low memory.

The culprit was prtg desktop that took 50% of total memory (2gb). Just sitting there doing nothing useful.

Is there an option to not run desktop?

prtg 20.1.55.1775

Thanks, Duarte Darreira

Hi,

You can uninstall the PRTG Desktop App on your Core Server System.

Kind regards,

Upvote.

PRTG Desktop on my small environment (80 sensors) took up 5Gb of RAM being in the tray. No errors, no warnings occurred for weeks. The latest update (21.9.0) didn't solve the leakage.

Just noticed that 22.7.0 and it's preceeding version seems to use nearly all the memory available over a short time. This happens on all devices but was not previously until the latest 2 versions.

Is this a known issue? When stopping this from the taskbar etc memory returns to expected levels.

An older version, 22.3.0 does not appear to have this issue
