What utility does the HTTP sensor work through?

I am curious what utility the HTTP sensor uses.

Does the sensor directly access the URL using the Chrome browser? Or using a bulit-in program in PRTG?

Thanks for your KB thread.

Our HTTP sensor is using a built-in program to access the target URL.
